SWENOR Rollerskis: Buyer’s Guide
Swenor Rollerski Recommendations – Summer 2024
Skate Skis:
SWENOR SKATE ALUMINIUM LONG:
The #1 recommended skate rollerski is the long-shaft aluminum version. Aluminum skis are the lightest rollerski option out there and are unrivalled when it comes to durability and reliability. The LONG version is recommended because the longer wheelbase gives a more realistic balance point and better stability. Overall, it has a more realistic snow-ski feel at a great price. Fenders included. Comes in yellow or pink.
SWENOR SKATE ALUMINIUM:
We recommend the short version of the aluminum skis to skiers under 18 years old. The short version is one of the lightest options from Swenor and are easier to manage for younger skiers. Fenders included. It comes in yellow or pink.
SKATE ELITE:
A fibreglass cap skate rollerski made of fibreglass and wood. Better vibration absorption than aluminum skis makes the ride buttery-smooth which is key for those who rollerski several times a week. I recommend these only to experienced roller skiers as they are heavier than the aluminum skis. Fenders included.
SWENOR JUNIOR SKATE:
A very lightweight skate rollerski for kids under 12 years old. Come with fast wheels (#1 speed) or polyurethane to maximize fun. Easy to control so beginner skiers can love rollerskiing right away. Pre-drilled holes for easy screw-on binding mounting. Comes in red, pink, or blue. Fenders Included.
SWENOR CLASSIC SKIS
FIBREGLASS CAP CLASSIC:
For classic rollerskis, I recommend the fibreglass cap skis over the aluminum option. The smooth ride, very realistic feel with some flex as you put weight on the ski, and small price difference makes this option very worth it over the aluminum ski. Made of fibreglass and wood – the same materials as a snow ski. Fenders included.
ALUTECH CLASSIC:
Lightweight, reliable classic rollerski made of aluminum. Great as the first pair of classic rollerskis or for those looking for a ski that will last many years. Comes in Yellow or Pink. Fenders included.
SWENOR ALUTECH JUNIOR CLASSIC
A lighter, shorter, nimble aluminum classic rollerski for kids under 12 years old. Come with #1 (fast) wheels. Pre-drilled holes for easy screw-on binding mounting. Fenders included.
Bindings
Each pair of rollerskis requires a screw-on binding. Rottefella makes a purpose-built NNN rollerski binding ideal for the hard knocks of rollerskiing. These bindings are made of beefier plastic that is stronger and more heat-resistant. An optional lock-out mechanism is available on request to reduce the chances the lever will pop up on bumpy pavement. Heel plates can be mounted for any foot size. Our default heel plate position is size 44 EUR for adults, and size 40 EUR for kids. Comes in Classic or Skate.
Poles for rollerskiing:
Rex’s purpose-built poles for rollerskiers. These rollerski poles come with special tungsten carbide tips that stay sharp over long distances. Replaceable tips, purchased separately, use Rex’s quick-release action allowing tips to be quickly changed on the go without the use of tools. Highly visible neon colours and reflectors on the front and back appear unusual to motorists and elicit extra caution from those you share the road with.
Rex RR (Rollerski Racing) Poles:
A top-tier Rollerski Pole with 100% HM Carbon shaft. Perfect for athletes who participate in frequent rollerski intensity sessions. Free Lengths 135cm-185cm can be cut to any length.
Rex Strada Poles: An 80% carbon rollerski pole in bright yellow. This pole is for active rollerskiers who only participate in infrequent sprint or intensity sessions. If you will be doing any kind of higher-pace rollerskiing, we strongly recommend upgrading to the RR model. Lengths from 135cm to 175cm in 5cm increments.
Rollerski tips (aka ferrules):
Tungsten carbide tips stay sharp even after many kilometers of pounding the pavement. Apply and remove with a heat gun and glue. Comes in sizes 8mm to 11mm in 0.5mm increments. Bulk tips in 8.5mm or 10mm also available.
Swenor Rollerski Bag:
Get a rollerski bag to match your skis! Keep your rollerskis organized and your hands-free when loading and unloading the car. Fits 1-2 pairs of rollerskis.
Swenor High-Visibility Vest:
A reflective vest so everyone can see that you’re rollerskiing. (Or biking – whatever the case may be.) Very lightweight – great for training in the summer heat. Comes in sizes XXS to XXXL.
